Aire Valley Leeds Area Action Plan
Aire Valley Leeds is an area of major change and the Area Action Plan (AAP) establishes the planning framework for such areas. The AAP will set out the distribution of land uses in the area, focus upon the implementation of development proposals and provide an important mechanism for ensuring development is of an appropriate scale, mix and quality.
The Aire Valley Leeds AAP will become one of the key documents in the Local Development Framework (LDF) for Leeds, which replaces the existing Unitary Development Plan. When adopted, the AAP will form the statutory Development Plan for the area and will have the legal status of a development plan (DPD). Documents with this status will guide decisions on planning applications within the area they cover.
Wide consultation on the AAP Preferred Options was undertaken in 2007. The comments received on "Issues and Options" and the "Preferred Options" have been considered in progressing the plan. More recent and on-going discussions with public and private sector stakeholders regarding new development and funding opportunities are informing production of the draft plan intended for formal submission in 2010.
The Aire Valley Area Action Plan documents are available to view at selected libraries or online at www.leeds.gov.uk/ldf. Alternatively contact Local Plans on (0113) 247 8092. |
