Transport in Aire Valley Leeds
Improving travel and transport access along with sustainbale travel planning for the future are key objectives built in to the regeneration proposals for Aire Valley Leeds.
HOW TO GET TO AIRE VALLEY LEEDS
By public transport The Metro Connect Service is a unique service operating between Middleton (South Leeds Family Learning Centre) through Belle Isle, Hunslet, Stourton, Cross Green and Halton Moor. Other bus routes operated by First Bus and Arriva regularly travel through the area.
The most direct routes for destinations to the South are operated by Arriva. For example: The 110, 443 and 444 service operates between Leeds City Centre and Wakefield with regular stops for Hunslet, Thwaite Gate and Leeds Valley Park.
Hunslet and onwards to Stourton for stops at Skelton Grange Road, Haigh Park Road, Royal Mail and Arla Foods are served by Arriva's services between Leeds, Castleford and Pontefract.
For Cross Green the First Bus services 58, 60 and 61 operate a variety of routes and timetables through the area.

Bus Ticketing Intiative If you are an unemployed Leeds resident you can get a FREE day rover ticket from if you get an interview with any of the companies in the Aire Valley Leeds area who advertise their vacancy with us. One months FREE travel pass is also available if you get the job.

Walking and Cycling There are a number of existing walking and cycling routes through or close to the area. The Aire Valley Project Team work with the Council's Sustainable Transport Team to improve these routes and create new ones.
By Road Access to Aire Valley Leeds from the M1 both North & South is from Junction 44 and the recently opened Junction 45. Junction 44 gives excellent access to companies based at Leeds Valley Park from the A639. Businesses based in Stourton and Hunslet can be reached by the B6481, which then continues into Leeds City Centre.
Businesses on the Cross Green Industrial Estate are served by a direct link to the motorway via the East Leeds Link Road and Junction 45 (opened February 2009).
Accessibility has been further improved with completion (November 2008)of the final stage of the city's Inner Ring Road (Stage 7). This has significantly improved access for traffic from the West and South leaving the M621 at Junction 5. Stage 7, including the impressive John Smeaton Viaduct, connects with the eastern end of the East Leeds Link Road providing an excellent network into and through Aire Valley Leeds.
